Frequently asked questions
Still deciding whether to reach out? These healthcare advocate FAQs cover the questions we hear most — from families new to Medicare to those in the middle of a billing dispute.
01. What does a healthcare advocate actually do?
A healthcare advocate helps you understand your insurance, your bills, and your options in plain language, then helps you take the right next step, whether that’s enrolling in the right Medicare plan, appealing a denial, or disputing a billing error.
02. Are you affiliated with Medicare or the federal government?
No. Official Advocates Consulting, LLC is not affiliated with or endorsed by Medicare or the federal government. We provide education and advocacy only.
03. Do you sell insurance plans?
No. We don’t sell insurance or enroll you in coverage. We help you understand your options so you, or a licensed agent you choose, can make that decision.
04. How much does this cost?
Pricing is discussed during your free 15-minute consultation, once we understand your specific situation and the level of support you need.
05. What happens on the free consultation call?
We’ll talk through what’s going on; a confusing bill, a Medicare deadline, a denied claim, or a parent’s care you’re trying to manage. If you have a bill, EOB, or denial letter handy, bring it, though it isn’t required. You’ll leave the call with a clear next step, whether or not you decide to work with us.
06. Do you guarantee my bill will be reduced or my claim approved?
We’ll talk through what’s going on; a confusing bill, a Medicare deadline, a denied claim, or a parent’s care you’re trying to manage. If you have a bill, EOB, or denial letter handy, bring it, though it isn’t required. You’ll leave the call with a clear next step, whether or not you decide to work with us.
07. Is my information kept confidential?
Yes, always. Any authorization you sign only allows us to act on your behalf for the purpose you approve.
08. Do I need to live in Henderson, NV to work with you?
Our office is based in Henderson, NV, and many clients are local, but we regularly support adult children managing a parent’s care from out of state. Distance isn’t a barrier to getting help.
09. What if I have questions about my own health insurance, not a parent's?
That’s exactly what we’re here for. Whether you’re advocating for yourself or a loved one, the process starts the same way: a free consultation to talk through what you’re facing.
